Erin Hammond's practice focuses on defense of complex litigation, including claims of medical and other professional liability, products liability, and commercial disputes. Driven, determined, and with a genuine enjoyment of the practice of law, Mrs. Hammond works hard to develop creative and cost effective legal solutions for her clients. By setting out early in the course of each engagement to establish strategic advantage, she has achieved considerable success for her clients. Her record is one of proven results.

Mrs. Hammond received her B.S., summa cum laude, from Washington State University in 1995 where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Her J.D. was conferred by New York University School of Law in 1998. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Hammond has also been actively involved in professional activities. For three years, she chaired and served as an instructor for the Washington State Bar Association’s YLD Trial Advocacy Program, an intensive 12-week program teaching the arts of persuasion and trial advocacy. Mrs. Hammond also has authored several articles and papers for the Defense Research Institute and ALFA International, and she regularly speaks at CLEs.

A long time member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, Mrs. Hammond was recently elected to its Board of Trustees and also serves as Practice Development Chair. She is a past Chair of ADR Publications for the Defense Research Institute, and is a member of several additional Bar Association committees. Currently for the Washington State Bar Association, she serves on the Adjunct Investigative Counsel Panel investigating complaints from the public, and also as a mentor lawyer to those newer to the profession. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has appointed Mrs. Hammond as pro bono counsel. In that capacity, she has donated substantial time to securing access to justice for those in need. On five occasions, Washington Law & Politics magazine has named Ms. Hammond a “Rising Star®.”
